I was a fledgling decorator at 8! Cloth remnants, scraps of wood and assorted wildflowers, bottles, mud sculptures, and beach rocks were the elements in my first eclectic decors.
As a teenager my interest in design extended to fashion and textiles and I began to sketch and paint and then decided to pursue a career in education.
In 1985 I decided to return to my interest in interior design and completed a diploma in interior decorating. From that time on I had the practical world of the classroom and administration, and my fantasy world of design which quickly spilled over into visual art and an obsession with colour. My interest in design remained through several career changes and today I like to write about interior design as I pursue my first love - art.
